Enter a journey of sacred creation and connection in this transformative workshop, where you’ll craft your own 12” bison hand drum—a powerful tool for healing, meditation, and grounding.
Guided by Joe Drake, a Peruvian-trained shaman, Tiffany Grimm Fulton, shamanic lineage holder, and Aaron Fulton, master drummer of over 40 years, this experience weaves ancestral wisdom, sacred tradition, and rhythm as a healing modality. Together, we’ll enter sacred space, a container for deep connection and intention, where we’ll honor the unique lineage and heartbeat each of us carries.
As we craft our drums using ethically sourced materials, we will infuse them with intention, preserving connection to our roots, honoring our journey through craft making, and listening for the rhythm that wants to come through our own expression of self.
The workshop will culminate in a drum circle, as we celebrate the fruits of our labor and tune into the sacred sound that will carry our stories forward!
$125/person (includes supplies); space is limited to 12

THE HISTORY OF DRUMMING AND RHYTHM…
Drumming and rhythm have been central to human existence since the dawn of time, deeply intertwined with the rhythms of the natural world. Long before recorded history, the pulse of rhythm was embedded in the cycles of the earth—the rising and setting sun, the ebb and flow of tides, and the beating of the human heart. Humans, animals, and virtually all living beings mirrored these natural rhythms in their lives and rituals, creating music and sound to connect with the world around them.
Drums, among the earliest instruments, were crafted from natural materials like hollowed-out logs, gourds, and animal hides, symbolizing a bridge between humanity and nature. Across cultures, they became sacred tools used in ceremonies, storytelling, and healing. The steady cadence of the drum evokes the universal heartbeat, a rhythm that connects all living beings and transcends language, time, and space.
Indigenous peoples have long recognized the drum’s power to unify communities and connect us to the divine. Beyond its spiritual role, rhythm pulses through all aspects of life, from the patterns of migration and weather to the cycles of breath and movement within our bodies. Modern science now supports this ancient wisdom, revealing how drumming can reduce stress, promote healing, and restore balance.
Drums invite us to remember our place in the larger rhythm of life, offering a sacred connection to our roots, our ancestors, and the timeless pulse of creation itself. When you craft a drum with your own two hands, you are infusing it with the wisdom that comes through your bloodline. You imbue it with sacredness through your intentionality and it will serve the greater web as you continue to share its rhythm with the world.
